A Doha-bound flight from Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur made an emergency landing at the Bengaluru airport on Monday after a passenger on board fell ill. The passenger was declared dead when he was taken to a hospital in Bengaluru.
According to a Times of India report, Qatar Airways flight QR 845 departed from Kuala Lumpur to Doha with a flight time of seven hours and 40 minutes.
Three hours after the flight took off from Kuala Lumpur, a passenger experienced medical complications inside the plane and the crew was alerted. The pilots of the flight then contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to request permission to land.
After the clearance was granted, the flight landed in Bengaluru at 1.35 pm on Monday. A medical team was ready at the airport and took the passenger off the plane.
The passenger was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead. Details such as the passenger’s name, nationality and illness are not yet known. It is also reported that the flight took off for Doha several hours later.
