Have you ever wondered if you could buy a ticket for the same price you were offered when you first checked its price? Amid high fares during the festive season, SpiceJet has re-introduced ‘SpiceLock’, a service that allows passengers to lock their desired fare for 48 hours.
After a two-year break, this year’s festivals are celebrated in a big way.
As SpiceJet’s official press release stated in September: “The Fare Lock service allows customers to book reservations so that the selected flight does not sell out and the price does not increase while they finalize their travel plans.”
It also allows passengers to lock fares for 48 hours without sharing the passenger’s name. Depending on the version, the offer can also be used by sharing the passenger’s name.
The service is valid on domestic and international flights. Applies to flights where the travel date is at least 7 days from the date of booking in domestic sectors and 15 days for international flights.
To avail this service, passengers who want to share their names need a nominal amount of ₹99 and ₹149 for domestic and international flights respectively.
Passengers who want to lock the fare for 48 hours without sharing the name of the passenger have to pay ₹199 for domestic flight and ₹249 for international flights.
