The UN agency’s audit of India’s aviation sector will begin on November 9

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will begin a comprehensive audit of the Indian aviation sector from November 9, according to official sources.
The audit will cover various areas including flight standards, licenses and airworthiness, sources told PTI.

Sources said the audit will begin on November 9 and will last until November 15.
ICAO, a specialized agency of the United Nations, conducted a comprehensive safety audit in 2018. The audit from next week will be the first ICAO audit of the Indian aviation sector after the coronavirus pandemic.
India’s civil aviation sector is on the way to recovery after being significantly affected by the pandemic and air travel is picking up steam. Regular international flights to and from India have resumed after being suspended for a little over two years in March this year.
Indian carriers are also expanding their services to meet the growing demand for transportation.
